Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES. NEITHER A PURCHASE NOR A PAYMENT WILL INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. ALL DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED SOLELY BY BINDING ARBITRATION AND ENTRANTS WAIVE THE ABILITY TO BRING CLAIMS IN A CLASS ACTION FORMAT.
1. Eligibility
The New York Islanders Reading Leaders Sweepstakes (hereafter “Sweepstakes”) is offered
only to individuals who, at the time of entry, are (a) legal residents of New York, New Jersey,
and Connecticut, (b) at least five (5) years of age and no older than fourteen (14) years of age
(“Child”), and (c) are entering with the permission of their parents/legal guardians who are
eighteen (18) years of age or older and accept and agree to be bound to these Official Rules.
Employees, officers, directors, and advisors of The EduNetwork Partners, Inc. (“ENP” or
“Administrator”), New York Islanders Hockey Club, L.P. (“Sponsor”), and the National Hockey
League (collectively, the “Released Parties”), and each of their respective parents, affiliated and
subsidiary companies, and advertising and promotion agencies, web masters and web suppliers,
and persons engaged in the development of the Sweepstakes and Sweepstakes materials and
members of the immediate family (parents, siblings, children [natural, adopted, foster] and
spouse, wherever they reside) and household members (whether or not related) of such
employees, officers, directors, and advisors are not eligible. By participating, you agree to these
Official Rules and all the decisions of Administrator and the Sponsor, which are final and
binding in all respects. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws,
rules and regulations. Void outside New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and where
prohibited.
2. Agreement to Official Rules
Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes the entrant’s (and the entrant’s parent/legal
guardian’s) full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the
decisions of the Sponsor and/or Administrator, which are absolute, final and binding. Winning a
prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other
requirements set forth herein.
3. Sweepstakes Period
The Sweepstakes begins at 9:00 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time (“EDT”) on April 1, 2025, and
ends at 11:59 P.M. EDT on August 31, 2025 (the “Sweepstakes Period”). Entries that are
submitted before or after the Sweepstakes Period will be disqualified. The Sweepstakes Period
will be divided into five (5) separate entry periods (each an "Entry Period", and collectively, the
"Entry Periods") as follows:
Month 1 Entry Period: 9:00 A.M. EDT on April 1, 2025, until 11:59 P.M. EDT on April 30,
2025.
Month 2 Entry Period: 9:00 A.M. EDT on May 1, 2025, until 11:59 P.M. EDT on May 31, 2025.
Month 3 Entry Period: 9:00 A.M. EDT on June 1, 2025, until 11:59 P.M. EDT on June 30, 2025.
Month 4 Entry Period: 9:00 A.M. EDT on July 1, 2025, until 11:59 P.M. EDT on July 31, 2025.
Month 5 Entry Period: 9:00 A.M. EDT on August 1, 2025, until 11:59 P.M. EDT on August 31,
2025.
4. How to Enter
You may enter the Sweepstakes during an Entry Period in one (1) of the two (2) following ways:
(1) the Program Method or (2) the Entry Form Method. No other method of entry will be
accepted. Limit one (1) entry per Child per Entry Period, regardless of method of entry.
Additional entries beyond the specified limit will be void. Non-winning eligible entries from one
Entry Period Drawing will not carry over to or be eligible for subsequent Entry Periods.
1. Program Method: A Child may enter the Sweepstakes during an Entry Period by his/her
parent/legal guardian or teacher (who has received permission of Child’s parent/legal guardian)
registering the Child in the New York Islanders Reading Leaders program (“Program”) by
completing the requested information in the online registration form. The Child, with the
assistance of his/her parent/legal guardian or teacher, will track the minutes and books the Child
reads during such Entry Period, using the online tracking form. The tracking forms completed
online will be automatically submitted through the website at
www.nyislandersreadingleaders.com at the end of the Entry Period. Each eligible Child who
tracks at least 400 minutes and no more than 799 minutes of reading time in such Entry Period
will be entered into the Level 1 Drawing for that Entry Period. Each eligible Child who tracks
800 or more minutes of reading time in such Entry Period will be entered into the Level 2
Drawing for that Entry Period. Teachers may register their students for the Sweepstakes through
the online registration process. They will need to obtain permission from the students’
parent/legal guardian and acknowledge that they have permission when they register. Teachers
will be required to enter the students’ parent/legal guardian email address when they register the
student.
2. Entry Form Method: If a Child wishes to enter the Sweepstakes without having to register in
the Program or track reading time, he/she may enter the Sweepstakes by visiting the website at
www.nyislandersreadingleaders.com during an Entry Period and downloading and having his/her
parent/legal guardian completing an offline entry form. Child’s parent/legal guardian may submit
the entry form by mail to Islanders Reading Leaders Sweepstakes c/o ENP, 44 South Broadway,
Suite 100, White Plains, New York 10601. All entries mailed must be postmarked by the end of
the applicable Entry Period or the next business day should the Entry Period fall on a weekend or
holiday. By successfully completing and submitting the entry form as directed, your Child will
receive one (1) entry in the Sweepstakes for both the Level 1 Drawing and Level 2 Drawing of
the applicable Entry Period. Parents/legal guardians must fully complete and submit all non-
optional data requested on the entry form for their Child to be eligible. Incomplete and/or
inaccurate entries are void. Entry form entries become the property of Administrator and will not
be returned.
5. Sweepstakes Recipient Selection
All entries will be received and recorded by Administrator’s computer. Five (5) to seven (7) days
following the end of each Entry Period, Administrator will randomly select seven (7) potential
winners from among all eligible Program entry method entries received for the Level 1 drawing
and all eligible entry form method of entry entries received for the corresponding Entry Period,
provided there are at least seven (7) eligible entries for that Entry Period; and seven (7) potential
winners from among all eligible Program entry method entries received for the Level 2 drawing
and all eligible entry form method of entry entries received for the corresponding Entry Period,
provided there are at least seven (7) eligible entries for that Entry Period.
Book titles and responses to readings will not affect odds of winning. The odds of being selected
as a potential Level 1 Prize winner of the Sweepstakes depend on the number of eligible Level 1
Program method of entry entries and the total number of eligible entry form method of entry
entries received for the corresponding Entry Period; and odds of being selected as a potential
Level 2 Prize winner of the Sweepstakes depend on the number of eligible Level 2 Program
method of entry entries and the total number of eligible entry form method of entry entries
received for the corresponding Entry Period. Administrator will attempt to notify the potential
winners’ parent/legal guardian via telephone or email within five (5) days after the
corresponding drawing. If a potential winner’s parent/legal guardian cannot be contacted within
five (5) days after the date of the first attempt to contact him/her, Administrator may select an
alternate potential winner in his/her place at random from the remaining non-winning, eligible
entries for the applicable Level and Entry Period. Administrator's computer is the official time-
keeping device for the Sweepstakes. Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with
these Official Rules, the potential winners will be declared the official winners of the
Sweepstakes.
The eligible Child that tracks the most minutes of reading time during the Sweepstakes Period
shall be awarded the Top Reader Prize.
The school that tracks the most minutes of reading time in aggregate during the Sweepstakes
Period shall be award the Top School Prize.
6. Prizes
All prizes will be awarded to the parent/legal guardian of the winner. The “Prizes” for the
Sweepstakes will be as follows:
Month 1 Drawing:
Month 1 Level 1 Prize: Seven (7) Month 1 Level 1 Prizes will be awarded as follows: each
winner will receive one (1) gift bag with NY Islanders branded promotional items to be
determined by the Sponsor at their sole discretion (Approximate Retail Value [“ARV”] per
Month 1 Level 1 Prize: $10.00).
Month 1 Level 2 Prize: Seven (7) Month 1 Level 2 Prizes will be awarded as follows: each
winner will receive one (1) NY Islanders autographed hockey puck to be determined by the
Sponsor at their sole discretion (ARV per Month 1 Level 2 Prize: $35.00).
Month 2 Drawing:
Month 2 Level 1 Prize: Seven (7) Month 2 Level 1 Prizes will be awarded as follows: each
winner will receive one (1) gift bag with NY Islanders branded promotional items to be
determined by the Sponsor at their sole discretion (ARV per Month 2 Level 1 Prize: $10.00).
Month 2 Level 2 Prize: Seven (7) Month 2 Level 2 Prizes will be awarded as follows: each
winner will receive one (1) NY Islanders autographed hockey puck to be determined by the
Sponsor at their sole discretion (ARV per Month 2 Level 2 Prize: $35.00).
Month 3 Drawing:
Month 3 Level 1 Prize: Seven (7) Month 3 Level 1 Prizes will be awarded as follows: each
winner will receive one (1) gift bag with NY Islanders branded promotional items to be
determined by the Sponsor at their sole discretion (ARV per Month 3 Level 1 Prize: $10.00).
Month 3 Level 2 Prize: Seven (7) Month 3 Level 2 Prizes will be awarded as follows: each
winner will receive one (1) NY Islanders autographed hockey puck to be determined by the
Sponsor at their sole discretion (ARV per Month 3 Level 2 Prize: $35.00).
Month 4 Drawing:
Month 4 Level 1 Prize: Seven (7) Month 4 Level 1 Prizes will be awarded as follows: each
winner will receive one (1) gift bag with NY Islanders branded promotional items to be
determined by the Sponsor at their sole discretion (ARV per Month 4 Level 1 Prize: $10.00).
Month 4 Level 2 Prize: Seven (7) Month 4 Level 2 Prizes will be awarded as follows: each
winner will receive one (1) NY Islanders autographed hockey puck to be determined by the
Sponsor at their sole discretion (ARV per Month 4 Level 2 Prize: $35.00).
Month 5 Drawing:
Month 5 Level 1 Prize: Seven (7) Month 5 Level 1 Prizes will be awarded as follows: each
winner will receive one (1) gift bag with NY Islanders branded promotional items to be
determined by the Sponsor at their sole discretion (ARV per Month 5 Level 1 Prize: $10.00).
Month 5 Level 2 Prize: Seven (7) Month 5 Level 2 Prizes will be awarded as follows: each
winner will receive one (1) NY Islanders autographed hockey puck to be determined by the
Sponsor at their sole discretion (ARV per Month 5 Level 2 Prize: $35.00).
Top Reader Prize:
One (1) winner with the most combined minutes read at the end of the Sweepstakes Period will
receive an autographed hockey stick to be determined by the Sponsor (ARV: $125.00).
Top School Prize:
One (1) school with the most combined minutes read at the end of the Sweepstakes Period will
be awarded one (1) set of NY Islanders floorball equipment and one (1) visit from Sparky the
Dragon, each as determined by the Sponsor (ARV: $1,250.00).
Total ARV of all Prizes for the Sweepstakes: $2,950.00.
All Prize details shall be determined in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. Each
winner’s parent/legal guardian is fully responsible for any and all applicable federal, state,
territory, provincial and local taxes (including income and withholding taxes). All costs and
expenses associated with the Prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided,
including but not limited to lodging, transportation costs, meals, gratuities and other expenses
incurred by accepting the Prize are the sole responsibility of each individual winner. The Prizes
are non-transferable and non-assignable, with no cash redemptions except at the Sponsor’s sole
and absolute discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any Prize (or any portion
thereof) with a prize of comparable or greater value at their sole and absolute discretion. There is
a limit of one prize per person per Entry Period.
7. General Conditions
In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Sweepstakes is impaired in any
way for any reason, including, but not limited to, fraud, virus, bug, worm, unauthorized human
intervention or other technical problem, or in the event the Sweepstakes is unable to run as
planned for any other reason, as determined by the Sponsor in their sole discretion, the Sponsor
may, in their sole discretion, either (a) suspend the Sweepstakes to address the impairment and
then resume the Sweepstakes in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules,
or (b) terminate the Sweepstakes and, in the event of termination, award the Prizes at random
from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the impairment. The
Sponsor reserves the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be
tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation
of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt to damage
the website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of
criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to
seek damages (including attorneys fees) and any other remedies from any person responsible for
the attempt to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any
provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
8. Release and Limitations of Liability
By permitting their Child(ren) to participate, parents/legal guardians agree to the Official Rules
and the decisions of Administrator and the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all
respects. Parents/legal guardians of the winners will be notified by email or telephone. Entry
materials become the sole property of Administrator and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Acceptance of any Prize constitutes permission of the winner’s parent/legal guardian for the
Sponsor and the National Hockey League to use winner’s name, likeness, hometown, and
winner’s photograph, voice, video statements and a brief description of winner’s entry
submissions, without further compensation, except where prohibited by law in all media, now
known or hereafter discovered, worldwide in any media, including, without limitation, on the
World Wide Web and Internet, at any time (or times), for advertising, trade, commercial and
promotional purposes, without notice, review or approval. The parent/legal guardian of each
winner will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release and, unless
prohibited by law, Publicity Release within seven (7) days of notification attempt or the Prize
will be forfeited and an alternate potential winner randomly drawn as set forth above. Nothing
herein will obligate the Sponsor, the National Hockey League, or Administrator to make any use
of any of the rights set forth herein. Taxes, if any, related to the Prize are the sole responsibility
of each individual Prize winner. No responsibility or liability is assumed by Released Parties for
damages, losses or injury resulting from acceptance or use of the Prize. The Sponsor, the
National Hockey League, and Administrator are not responsible for deliveries or any failure to
deliver by any courier or postal service, technical, hardware, software or telephone or facsimile
malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect,
incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the user or by
any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes or by any
human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Sweepstakes. No
responsibility is assumed by Released Parties for lost, misdirected, illegible, damaged, postage
due or late mailed entries. The Sponsor reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify
any individual that tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process; violates the Official
Rules; or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse,
threaten or harass any other person. The parent/legal guardian of each Prize winner assumes all
liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this
Sweepstakes or use or redemption of the Prize. The Released Parties make no warranties, express
or implied, relative to the use or enjoyment of the Prize (or any portion thereof) including,
without limitation, its quality, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. By permitting
his/her Child to enter the Sweepstakes, each parent/legal guardian agrees to indemnify, hold
harmless and fully release the Released Parties from any and all claims, demands, losses,
promises, causes of action and/or liabilities for any injuries, losses, death, or damages of any
kind caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by participation in, or preparation for, the
Sweepstakes, Sweepstakes-related activity, entrant’s entry, or resulting from the acceptance,
possession, quality, use or misuse of the Prize (or any portion thereof) including any travel or
activity related thereto. If this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned for any reason
including, without limitation, as a result of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering,
unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, cancellation of games, or any other causes
which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this
Sweepstakes, Administrator reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel,
terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the
entry process, and, if terminated, to determine the winners for the applicable Entry Period, if any,
from among all eligible, non-suspect entries submitted up to the point of termination for the
applicable Entry Period and drawing as set forth above. Entries generated by a script, macro or
other mechanical or automated means will be disqualified.
9. Disputes
Except where prohibited, each entrant agrees that (a) any and all disputes, claims, controversies,
and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded
(each, a “Claim”) shall be (1) arbitrated on an individual basis only, without resort to any form of
class action, and shall not be consolidated or joined with or in any arbitration or other proceeding
involving a Claim of any other party, and (2) settled by binding arbitration in New York before a
single arbitrator appointed by the American Arbitration Association in accordance with its then
governing rules and procedures, and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator may be
entered by any court having jurisdiction thereof; and (b) under no circumstance will entrant be
permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental,
consequential or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses. All issues and
questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official
Rules, entrants rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection
with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of New
York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, which would cause the
application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than New York.
10. Privacy
Information collected from entrants is subject to Administrator’s privacy policy located at
www.nyislandersreadingleaders.com/privacy-policy. Any data shared with the Sponsor for
Sweepstakes administration purposes will be subject to and treated in a manner consistent with
the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy located at https://www.nhl.com/islanders/team/privacy-policy.
11. Official Rules and Winner List
To request a copy of these Official Rules, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Islanders
Reading Leaders Sweepstakes c/o EduNetwork Partners, Inc., 44 South Broadway, Suite 100,
White Plains, NY 10601.Official Rules requests will only be accepted before the Sweepstakes
start date (listed above). To request a copy of the name of the winners, send a self-addressed,
stamped envelope to EduNetwork Partners, Inc., 44 South Broadway, Suite 100, White Plains,
NY 10601. Winner List requests will only be accepted after the Sweepstakes end date (listed
above).
12. Sponsors
The Sponsor of this Sweepstakes is the New York Islanders Hockey Club, L.P., 15 Verbena
